Web form dates[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

The web form allows you to apply for courses for the upcoming or active semester. It is updated cyclically to enable early registration for the upcoming semester.

The update usually takes place two months before the new semester.

Course application for the winter semester = Available from the beginning of August
Course application for the summer semester = Available from the beginning of February

Web form: Login[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

The web form automatically asks for everything necessary for creation. This keeps follow-up questions to a minimum. You also have the option of directly selecting courses registered in PAUL.

We strive to make this course application process as simple and convenient as possible. We would therefore be very grateful for your feedback. This will allow us to further improve the form for future semesters.

After accessing the web form via the PANDA homepage or the following link (To the web form), you must log in with your university account.


Web form: Guided course application[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

Course type[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

  • Default: Course exists in PAUL
  • Course is not in PAUL. Please create an EXTRA course!


Course exists in PAUL[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]


PAUL course search: Enter the PAUL number (L.xxx.YYYYYY / K.yyy.ZZZZZ) or parts of it here!
You will receive a list of results from which you can select the desired course by clicking.
After making your selection, the PAUL course number and PAUL course name fields will display your selection.
In addition, course staff listed in PAUL will be displayed under Instructors.
Of course, you can search again and change the information if you made a mistake.
Tip: The last 4-5 digits of the PAUL number are very suitable for this search.

Course does NOT exist in PAUL[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

Course name: Enter the desired course name!
We will automatically assign an EXTra number for your course (Z.EXT.YYYYYY), under which it can be found in the semester area.
Participants can find courses by number, name, or instructor.


Instructors (First and Last Name)[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

  • Instructor: Enter the names of the course's instructors and assistant instructors!
If the person has already registered with PANDA, we will add them to the course directly.
People already registered can add additional staff members.
In many cases, the person's username or university email address is very helpful.
  • Lecturer: This role has the same rights as the instructor, but does not appear in the course lists. Ideal for staff, tutors, and other helpers.

Participant Registration[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

Select the method participants will use to access your course.

  • PAUL Participant Synchronization: Participants registered in PAUL are transferred to the course once a day.
Note: You cannot currently remove participants added using this method. If you would like to do so, please contact us for a solution (zim@uni-paderborn.de).
  • Self-Enrollment via Password: Please also enter a desired password! Participants must use the password to register for the course themselves.
  • Open Course: All PANDA users can enroll in the course.

Small Groups[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

You can also indicate whether you want to create existing PAUL small groups as PANDA groups by clicking on the field.

Import Content[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

Here you have the option of importing content from a previous course. To do so, follow the linked instructions on the web form. ZIM will not transfer content from previous semesters!

Comments[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

Here you can enter further comments and requests. This also includes special requests for the PAUL synchronization (participants from multiple PAUL courses in one PANDA course, etc.).

Applicant (permanent)[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

You will receive an automatic notification by email after submitting the form and a confirmation once the course is set up. You can send further questions in response to this email, as long as you include the ticket number in the subject line, so we know immediately which request you are referring to.


Email: Complete information[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

You can of course also send us your course request the traditional way by email to zim@uni-paderborn.de.

Required Information[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

In this case, we need the following information about the course:

  • Course name
  • PAUL number (if available)
  • Instructor (username, if known)
  • Registration type
    • PAUL synchronization
    • Self-enrollment with password
      • The desired password
    • Open course

Optional[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

  • Other staff members (usernames)
    • Whether they should be registered as instructor assistants
