Do you work or conduct research at the University of Paderborn? Then the following ZIM services may be of interest to you.

Uni-Account[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

The key to many university services is the Uni-Account. This allows you to log in to many services and use numerous functions.


You can use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and many other products with the Microsoft 365 package.

LAN[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

If you want to connect your device to the university network via a LAN cable, your device must first be enabled for this. The MAC address is required for this.

Wi-Fi[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

You can connect your mobile devices to the Wi-Fi via eduroam. Many other universities also offer this option.

VPN[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

Some services are only available from the Paderborn University network. If you work remotely, you can connect to the Paderborn University network via VPN.

Network Storage[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

You can store data in your personal home directory in network storage. The data is stored on Paderborn University servers and is backed up.

Online Storage[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

Sciebo is an online storage service where the data is stored on servers in North Rhine-Westphalia. There are apps for computers, smartphones, and tablets. Furthermore, data can be shared with people who do not have a UPB university account.

The ZIM offers a large portfolio of software. You can find the complete offering here:

IDs[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

You can download your staff ID via the Serviceportal.

You can create a library account by generating a library ID.

Profile Manager[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

As an employee of the University of Paderborn, a public profile of yours can be displayed on the University of Paderborn's website. You can configure its content using the profile manager.
